What
is Core Energetics?
Core Energetics is an energy and consciousness-oriented body psychotherapy
integrating the physical body, mind, emotions and spirit. Human
connection—the need for unity versus separation—is the focus of Core
therapeutic work. Core Energetics allows participants to open the door,
journey home, and uncover their personal truth, passion, power and innermost
feelings. This process of inner healing involves opening blocked energies held
in the body
and integrating them with mind and spirit. To achieve this, Core
exercises use breath and emotion with sound and movement to express the life
force making available the energy of one’s unique spirit in all aspects of
life.
Where Did Core
Energetics Come From?

The concept of the Core Energetic process was created by Dr. John C. Pierrokos.
It took John his lifetime and was created in stages over many years. John work
with Wilhim Reich began the process. He initially incorporated many basic
Reichian concepts in his own private practice of traditional analysis. He then
went on to create Bioenergetics with Alexander Lowen, M.D.). Together they
began the first body psychotherapy and also utilized insights from modern
physics, the evolutionary path of many physical, mental and spiritual
experiences, as well as the inspiring lectures delivered by Eva Pierrokos,
which expanded into the process called The Pathwork. As a result there is a
core institute in New York City, Germany, Brazil, Mexico, Australia,
Switzerland and the south of France, as well as Core LA. Almost all the
institutes offer training and certification in this unique mind, body and
spiritual form of psychotherapy.
More
About Core
Core Energetics is a deep transformational process that addresses five levels
of existence in the human being. These levels are:
Thus, the physical body is the laboratory of life and the vehicle through which we express our emotions, thoughts and spiritual self. Striking information is revealed by the physical structure. By working with the body, which carries defensive reactions of our emotions, we open up the way to the core energetic functions. Our bodies are the most wonderful instruments for our evolutionary process. The focus here is on releasing the life energy held within our systems as a way to touch the essence of our being or core.
How Core Works
The flow of living energy in the organism is integral to the organism. That
means that diagnosis and treatment must look for the effects of blocking
energy not only where the dysfunction is occurring, but on all the human
operational planes: the physical, the emotional, the mental and the spiritual,
and in both the conscious and unconscious domains. Spiritual life does not
flower until a person's energies can flow fairly freely from and into the
core.
The third phase of the work is deepening the trust in the core energy. Here we can unify dualities that appear to be conflicts.
The creative potential of our life energy is tremendous. There is instantaneous knowledge of what the truth is, in the now, without duality.
The fourth phase of Core Energetic therapy, inward and outward, calls on the person to trust the environment—the whole universe—as the setting for his or her individual growth. The core reaches for infinity. This is not a metaphor. In terms of the mass of a person's energy, the repercussions of its outward movements have no end, according to the theory of the expanding universe, just as the energy surrounding it has no practical exhaustion point. The First Year acquaints you with the basic concepts of energy and consciousness and how they relate to the process of therapy.
This holistic approach focuses on both the unconscious involuntary processes and the conscious voluntary aspects. The involuntary processes are expressed in life through the pulsations of energy streaming through the body. When this streaming is allowed to continue, the person experiences a vibration and resonance in the whole organism, which helps to integrate the conscious with the unconscious. The exploration seeks to discover the emotional and physical defense patterns expressed in the person's process.
Even after centuries of body work and meditation and the practice of other disciplines, people still suffer, unfulfilled, because these defense patterns have not been recognized. The unconscious movements and the contextual situation, which are represented in the emotional state of the body have not been connected and unified with the increased flow of energy. The understanding of these processes and their integration is one of the unique teachings.
